Reminiscences of a woman of substance

THE AUDACITY OF JURISPRUDENCE "... the Office of the Chief Executive has itself been created, with its powers, by the Constitution. There are no hereditary Kings in America and no powers not created by the Constitution. So all 'inherent powers' must derive from that Constitution."~~Judge Anna Diggs Taylor "This expose is dedicated to the exposure of his (Bryan Cunningham's) intellectual folly and its dubious origins but more importantly, to the towering stature of a most magnificent woman and her selfless commitment to jurisprudence. The incandescence of the true woman of substance; dignified, courageous, graceful and exceptionally blessed"~~Egoigwe The only thing there is for me to fear, amongst the living, is to lose my freedom. It is the only thing that makes me less than human. I cease to exit in my natural state by that condition; to only exist by the miracle of breath. There is nothing that can be worth it, I labor in vain. In truth, I may

Reminiscences of an American dream

WON'T YOU BUY ME A FERRARI ENZO? By Egoigwe There is so much America needs to know, the definition of failure for anyone is not being able to fend for yourself, whereas you are fit. You cannot have an enemy greater than one who deprives you of livelihood. The world sees America living in ‘lunatic’ obscenity; I do not mean it to be insulting or abusive but as a descriptive given. I mean, just think about it… here I am, cuddled up in my little Nigerian corner, watching some Gotti chick sweating it out in the kitchen to fetch Richard Quest some spaghetti. A meal fifteen people cannot consume is served for four; Richard, the Gotti chick and her two spoilt brats that call their mum crazy and mean it, on global TV (CNN). Mum goes: “Crazy? You mean neurotic.” That was mum being factual. The brat emphasizes with a prolonged nod of the head: “Yeah! Crazy and neurotic.” He’s the one not touching his meal, the other brat is playing twirl-a-top with his spaghetti and table sticks.

Reminiscences of Life and death

DYING TO WIN By Michael O. Dibiaezue I really need to know what would drive anyone to blow themselves up. It is such a persuasion; deep. Can one honestly call that state of mind stable? Yet, people who do are such everyday people, the type you would readily share a drink with while discussing local politics; ordinary people. Is it really just faith and belief? It’s something so forlorn; it’s either abject or melancholic. It cannot be rational, normal or considerate. It is definitely suicidal and that cannot be good by whatever the parameters; intellect, religion, capability or doctrine. For me, my life is not mine to take or give but even if we assumed for a sec that it was, why would I want to blow myself up? And as if that just won’t do, I go and blow up a couple of more innocent lives along with myself. Nobody, but nobody does that in a stable frame of mind. These are really crazy times and it is a very deadly world that we dwell in, incredibly unsa

Reminiscences: Interracial Relationships

Image
Who would you rather be in bed with; black or white? Many Black women married to White men worried that the stereotypes of Black women as sexually promiscuous would affect how their White partners’ families viewed them, and in some cases it very clearly had a negative impact on a White family’s willingness to accept interracial relationships. Black women also worried that the greater value attached to White women’s fair skin and straight hair put them at a disadvantage in the marriage market with both Black men and White men. There was often an underlying worry that even though they were partnered their choices to date or marry Black men and White men were much more limited. The other two controlling images that shaped the experiences of the Black women I interviewed were the belief that Black women are domineering “bitches” and “gold diggers.” Many Black women in interracial relationships felt pressure to carefully monitor their behavior, so they didn’t come off as “the typical
